Mount Kailash is a sacred place where the four parallel religions Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bon are weaved together in its holy spirit. It is not merely a mountain of stone and snow; it is a personification of the energy of Lord Shiva on Mount Kailash. Resting in the southwestern corner of Tibet, the Kailash Parvat height rises at 6638m(21778 ft) which earns it the title of the highest mountain in the Himalayas. This holy mountain is also known as Mount Meru' in Buddhist cosmology which means the Navel of The Earth. Millions of Shiva devotees plan Kailash Parvat yatra and take a dip in the holy Mansarovar Lake, which is located at the foot of the Holy Mountain Kailash.
When travelling to Mount Kailash, it is critical to plan ahead and prepare sufficiently. Ensuring the right and necessary items to carry on the journey can greatly improve the entire experience. To avoid altitude sickness, keep the high altitude in mind and acclimatise correctly. Respect local customs and traditions by following Leave no Trace principles to
reduce your environmental impact. Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake are spiritual icons that travellers witness while immersed in the Himalayan beauty. The Everest Base Camp & Three Passes trek is a renowned adventure that combines two iconic destinations in the Everest region of Nepal. It involves trekking to the base camp of Mount Everest and exploring the stunning Gokyo Lakes.
Typically, the trek takes around 14 to 16 days, depending on the specific itinerary and acclimatization needs. This duration includes trekking days, rest days, and travel to and from Kathmandu.
The best time to embark on the Everest Base Camp & Three Passes trek is during the pre-monsoon (spring) season from March to May and the post-monsoon (autumn) season from September to November. These months offer stable weather conditions and clear mountain views.
While previous trekking experience is beneficial, the Everest Base Camp & Three Passes trek is suitable for adventurers of various skill levels. It is essential to be physically fit and prepared for moderate to strenuous hiking at high altitudes.
The highest point reached during the trek is the Everest Base Camp at approximately 5,364 meters (17,598 feet) above sea level. Additionally, trekkers ascend to the Gokyo Ri viewpoint at about 5,357 meters (17,575 feet).
Adequate physical fitness training, including cardiovascular exercises and strength training, is crucial. It is also essential to acclimatize gradually, stay hydrated, and follow the guidance of experienced guides. Consult with a healthcare professional before the trek, especially if you have any underlying medical conditions.
Accommodation along the Everest Base Camp & Three Passes route primarily consists of tea houses or lodges. These basic guesthouses offer simple rooms with twin beds and shared restroom facilities. Trekkers should be prepared for rustic conditions and bring a sleeping bag for added comfort.
Trekkers need two permits: the Sagarmatha National Park Permit and the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit. These permits can be obtained through registered trekking agencies in Kathmandu or upon arrival in Lukla, the starting point of the trek.
Altitude sickness, or acute mountain sickness (AMS), is a potential risk when trekking at high altitudes. Trekkers should acclimatize properly, stay hydrated, and be aware of symptoms such as headaches, nausea, and fatigue. Guides are trained to monitor trekkers' health and provide assistance if needed.
Essential items include appropriate trekking attire, sturdy hiking boots, a warm sleeping bag, sunscreen, sunglasses, a first aid kit, and a refillable water bottle. It is also advisable to bring altitude sickness medication, trekking poles, and snacks for energy during the trek.

SUJIT KUMAR THAKUR10 June 2024I just love their services. I gifted their services to my parents, and they enjoyed their trip a lot. I am so grateful to Treks Advisor for taking such good care of my parents. We didn't need to pay any extra charges for porters, guides, or drivers—everything was included. Previously, we had a trip in India to Ladakh, where we had to pay extra for everyone, so this was a major plus point. Additionally, all meals were included—not just breakfast, but lunch and dinner as well. Private vehicles were used for intercity travels, which made the trip even more comfortable. The services were great, and my parents loved the experience. Thank you, Treks Advisor!
