Boots, Runners, and Booties for Your Expedition
Your feet are your most important asset on an Everest trekking adventure. Choosing the wrong shoes can lead to blisters that end your Mount Everest expedition before it even starts.
For the walk to Everest Base Camp, you need waterproof boots with good ankle support. Look for Gore-Tex lining and a stiff Vibram sole to handle the rocky terrain of the Khumbu.
Many experienced trekkers use trail runners for the lower sections where the path is flatter. They are lighter and more breathable, but they offer less protection on the scree slopes near the Mount Everest summit approach.
Don't forget lightweight sandals or down booties for the evenings. Letting your feet breathe after a long day of Everest trekking is essential for recovery.
Invest in high-quality footwear. Your comfort on the trail to the Mount Everest summit depends entirely on what you put on your feet.
