Pisang Peak is graded Alpine PD+ (Peu Difficile +). It involves moderate snow and ice climbing with some steep sections. Previous high-altitude trekking experience is strongly recommended.
Previous technical climbing experience is not compulsory. We provide comprehensive training on fixed ropes, crampons, ice axe use, and crevasse rescue at Base Camp before the summit push.
It is best suited for physically fit trekkers who have already completed high-altitude treks such as Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Base Camp, or Langtang-Gosainkunda. Complete beginners without prior experience above 5,000 m are not recommended for the summit attempt.
With our experienced climbing guides, excellent weather forecasting, and proper acclimatization schedule, the summit success rate is over 95%.
At High Camp (approximately 5,400 m), night temperatures can drop to –10°C to –15°C (14°F to 5°F). Proper high-altitude clothing and a 4-season sleeping bag are essential.
The trekking portion (up to Pisang village and the Annapurna Circuit) can be done by fit seniors, and pony support is available on some sections. However, the actual summit climb is strenuous and only suitable for those who are physically very fit, regardless of age.
For Pisang Peak Climbing, having the correct technical and personal gear is essential for both safety and success on this exciting 6,000 m+ expedition. Our package includes all group climbing equipment (fixed ropes, ice screws, snow bars, etc.) and personal technical gear such as ice axe, crampons, harness, helmet, carabiners, and ascender can be provided or rented at no extra cost.
