Hygiene and Warmth on the Trail
It seems like a luxury, but a liner is essential. It adds warmth and keeps your sleeping bag clean. It’s a small item with big benefits for your Everest trekking comfort.
A thermal liner (like Sea to Summit Reactor) can add 5°C to 10°C of warmth. This upgrades a 3-season bag to a 4-season bag, saving money and weight on your Mount Everest expedition.
You will be dirty. The liner protects the expensive down bag from your sweat and oils. It’s easy to wash a liner; it’s hard to wash a sleeping bag during an Everest trek.
In low altitudes where it’s warm, you can sleep just in the liner on top of the bed. It protects you from questionable teahouse blankets.
Silk or thermal, don't leave home without it. It makes sleeping in a bag much more pleasant.
